Excel Sheets Remover

Remove worksheets from Excel workbooks ÔÇö keep the default sheet, or delete selected sheets only.

Upload .xls, .xlsx, or .xlsm workbooks (or a ZIP of them), list worksheets, and remove all sheets except the default Sheet1 ÔÇö or remove selected sheets only. Processed locally with ZipArchive / PhpSpreadsheet ÔÇö no third-party APIs. At least one worksheet always remains. ThisWorkbook is never listed.

Limits & notes

  • Supported: .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, and .zip archives of those files.
  • .xlsb is not supported for sheet removal — Save As .xlsx/.xlsm in Excel first.
  • After removal, a status table shows Workbook / Worksheet Name / Temp Name / Status. Use the copy or Excel icons to export it.
  • Selecting all sheets keeps the default sheet (Sheet 1) with its original data and temp name. Unchecked sheets stay intact; if any sheet is left unchecked, the default may be deleted when explicitly selected.
  • ThisWorkbook is never listed and cannot be deleted.
  • .xlsm keeps its VBA project; only worksheet parts are removed.

How to Use
  1. Upload one or more Excel files (.xls, .xlsx, .xlsm) or a ZIP archive.
  2. Select which workbooks to process from the Excel files dropdown.
  3. Choose Remove all sheets except default, or Remove selected sheets and tick worksheets from the Sheets dropdown.
  4. Choose Single file or Batch ZIP download, then click Remove sheets.
  5. Download the result. Use Clear to start over.
Pro Tips
  • At least one worksheet always remains. Selecting all sheets keeps Sheet1 (or the first worksheet).
  • ThisWorkbook is never listed and cannot be deleted.
  • .xlsm keeps its VBA project; only worksheet parts are removed.

QWhich formats are supported?

QWill macros survive on .xlsm?

Yes. Sheets are removed from the OOXML package without stripping vbaProject.bin.
